Terms of Use — Scarab

1. What Scarab is

Scarab provides situational readings for cities and dates you choose. A reading is information, not advice, instruction, prediction, or a guarantee of safety or danger. Scarab never states that a place is safe.

Scarab presents this information through the Scarab Score, an index produced with Scarab's own methodology from natural-hazard, environmental, health, security and other conditions. The score places available information in context. It does not determine whether travel is safe or unsafe.

You remain responsible for your own decisions, including whether, when and how you travel, and for following the guidance and instructions of governments, local authorities and other official sources.

2. Your use

Scarab is for personal, non-commercial use by people aged 16 and over. You may not resell, scrape, systematically extract, reproduce or redistribute readings, or present a reading as an official source. Reasonable limits may apply to how often the service can be used.

3. Purchases

Purchases are made through the App Store, charged to your Apple Account and subject to Apple's terms. The yearly pass and the monthly pass are one-time purchases. They last 12 months and 30 days, and do not renew. A pass bought while another is running starts when that one ends. The yearly plan and the monthly plan renew automatically until you cancel in your Apple Account settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

4. Information and limitations

Scarab uses available information and its own methodology. Information may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable or subject to change, and events may occur that no system can anticipate. A reading reflects the information and methodology available when it is produced. The absence of a warning or an adverse score does not mean that no danger exists.

5. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scarab is provided as is and as available, without any guarantee of accuracy, completeness, timeliness or suitability, and Scarab and its creators are not responsible for decisions, actions, losses, injuries or other consequences arising from reliance on the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. The app licence and changes

Your licence to use the app is Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. We may update these Terms; the current version always lives at this address with its date. These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you live in a country whose law gives you consumer rights that cannot be taken away, you keep them.
